Bocking Alliance Bowls Club was formed in 2009 with the amalgamation of Bocking Bowls Club and Crittall Braintree Bowls Club. Both clubs have a rich history, but for different reasons thought the forming of a new club would cement their future. Bocking were struggling to attract new members, finding increasing difficulty in fulfilling friendly matches and had seen its womens section disappear. Crittall Braintree were losing their green and had the choice of disbanding or moving en masse to a different club. So a new club was formed and a new committee took on the task of fulfilling the expectations of the members. To say it has been a success is a huge understatement. On the playing side the league teams have been highly successful and the friendly fixtures have blossomed. On the social side we have a vibrant programme of events that not only bring all the members together but help to raise funds for the club to maintain the excellent facilities and the top class green
